Tax Considerations

Depending on PoMo Art Club’s legal status:

  1. Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) / Charitable Organization:

    • Portion of membership fee exceeding the value of tangible benefits may be tax-deductible.

    • Example: $2,000 annual fee – $500 valued benefits = $1,500 deductible donation.

    • Patrons receive a statement showing benefits value vs deductible donation.

  2. Non-DGR Status:

    • Membership fees are not tax-deductible but still offer access to exclusive experiences, artworks, and influence.

  3. Corporate Sponsorship:

    • Businesses may deduct Patron contributions as marketing/advertising expenses if recognition is provided (e.g., logo placement, event credit).

Optional Donation Add-Ons

  • Patrons may contribute additional funds on top of their membership, fully tax-deductible if PoMo Art Club has DGR status.
